Suggestions for names

This horse I'm buying is currently named "Buddy." Thanks but no thanks with keeping it that. I've looked at scores of names but none seem to fit. He's a bay, pretty standard from that point. Floaty gaits, but you get the feeling that he'd open up wide and just run if you once gave him the cue. I'll be showing him in low level dressage, so I want something that doesn't sound "off" when he and I are being announced for schooling shows. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! No long names...he's a grade. :)

It doesn't matter what you name it, after you have worked with and ridden it for awhile you'll use a few choice names that can't be printed on here anyway

That's how I usally name a horse, I kinda let the horse name itself. The name may start out as "Ranger" and end up being a#%$# for life.

Ask Flaboy with his colt "Idiot" :D .

I agree with a horse naming itself. My Appy has been called a variety of unmentionables over the years. Maybe I should name the new horse "Diabolical" just in case?

I do like Regal, and that would fit him well. Any other possibilities?

Not yet, but I'm thinking. :)

Alan i was reading in one of your replys and noticed you own several horses ? What do you use them for ? The reason i ask my wife and i own more than we both need. She use hers to barrel race with and i trail ride on mine.

I have two of my own I ride and my wife has two she rides just for trail and around the ranch. The rest I raise and train pleasure horse (QH & Paints) to sell, one broad mare and 2 yr old gelding to sell and my newest colt who I may want to keep hold of... he's pretty nice. KIds are gone and more money for my "hobby"

Just to clear thing up, all our horses are always for sale.

Considering his gait, the dressage thing, and other factors - how about Wind Dancer?

Wow, I like that! I had thought about Windtalker, but that sounds better. Think that's it for sure now. I'll call him Wind, but for shows Wind Dancer will be what he's announced as. :D :D You made my day!

Yankee, Dynamo, Sly, Snaze, JD, Commander, Major, Crossfire, Gambler, Duce, Dillon, Moses, Houston, Dallas (full brothers, real original I know!), Badger, and Digger.

Just a few we've had over the past few years.

Good luck with the names, I really hate this part of it all! Things usually just work out when you least expect it!
