[QUOTE="txag, post: 37772, member: 8"] it's true, eric. welfare reform doesn't happen under democratic leadership. ever hear of the lone star card? republican idea. i think this is a good place for a little welfare story i have....... after having my daughter, i was on maternity leave for about 9 weeks. as the time was drawing closer for me to return to work i was dreading the idea of leaving her with a babysitter & cried at the thought. not long before my return date, we were out of town for some reason or another & stopped at a restaurant for supper. during the meal, the baby got fussy so i got up to walk around with her while my husband finished eating (we were then going to switch). while i was up walking, our waitress was up at the checkout counter & we started visiting. she proceeded to tell me that she had a kid not much older than mine. i then mentioned my not wanting to go back to work so soon & she told me that she had decided to just work part-time so she could go on welfare & stay home with her kid. so basically, i was going back to work to support myself & my family as well as her sorry ass & her kid. i didn't leave a tip......i give her a tip every two weeks. looking at my last paystub, i see that by the end of the year i will have paid over $20,000 in federal taxes. that's just me.....i didn't look at my husband's check & that's not including the cattle income. i am not against helping people but i prefer to choose where my money goes. i do not like the idea of it going to people who are too lazy to work. if you believe the democrats are for the true "working class" you're dillusioned.
