Well, distance don't make no nevermind to a gulf storm when the wind field stretches out so far in every direction. I'm 93 miles from the gulf and saw 80 MPH winds for nearly 8 hrs straight one night a few years ago. Ya'll enjoy the moisture tho--I know ya need a little more..
Just remember Ol Mose's little Prayer just as all the Commanches in the world came riding down on em..:
For that we are about to receive, we thank ya Lord
AFAIK, that is still the rainfall record for 24 hrs in the USA.Caustic Burno":13vkp7mx said:One the worst ones I ever went through was Claudette not much in the way of tropical storms. It stalled and dropped 42 inches of rain in 24 hours.
Hope it is just a rain event for those folks and not floods
