The enhanced radar pictures make it look like something, the actual radar pictures tell the true story. The media has turned the weather into a cash cow. Remember when the weather channel was actually a weather channel?

Well, distance don't make no nevermind to a gulf storm when the wind field stretches out so far in every direction. I'm 93 miles from the gulf and saw 80 MPH winds for nearly 8 hrs straight one night a few years ago. Ya'll enjoy the moisture tho--I know ya need a little more..

One the worst ones I ever went through was Claudette not much in the way of tropical storms. It stalled and dropped 42 inches of rain in 24 hours.

Hope it is just a rain event for those folks and not floods

AFAIK, that is still the rainfall record for 24 hrs in the USA.

wind blew like crazy all night, virtually no rain 4/10 is what was recorded . Lots of little limbs out of the pecan trees that I could see in the dark. The wife is checking after daylight to see if I still have tarps on my hay stacks

Lot of wind here. A good many trees down. No structural damage that I've seen. 5 inches of rain or maybe a little better, hasn't stopped yet but it's about done.

The storm is through here and we ended up with 3.5" of much needed rain. The only problem we have is no power here at the house.

I got 8/10ths this morning....... Don't think they knew it was comming.....or maybe it was what I was supposed to get 3 days ago... Or maybe it was supposed to wait till next week...this gets so confusing!
Glad I got it before it was all gone again.

wind and rain but no damage..thankfully. wifes in the hosp so didn't need any more grief
we got about 8'' in less than 48 hrs so everythings full but not really flooding
