I use a chicken litter quite a bit, but it will be a couple weeks before I can get some. Would you go ahead and put some urea on to get it going? If so how much taking into account you will be putting about 2 tons of litter per acre in a couple weeks.

I would just wait for the CS. It proabbly wont be cool enough for the grass to really get growing for a couple of weeks to a month.

How many tons would you put per acre? Have been doing 2. My soils tests are low on K. Thought about spreading some potash this fall.

The one time we used CS that seems like what we used. Only did it once because of the expense of spraying the next 2 years for the weeds that came in with it.

This place had so many weed before so I don't know if litter makes it worse or not. Dang pigweed has been awful. Why does litter make more weeds?

What we got was spurge. The stuff wasn;t/isn;t properly composted so every seed seems to want to germinate. Don;t know if the seed is in the feed and just passes through the bird or if it blows in while it's piled up
