We haven't been able to cut our main pasture due to so much rain and flooding in the past months. We have some smaller steers that I've noticed there eyes are kind of swelled and watering lately. Other than cutting the grass is there any way we can doctor them? We are worming them this weekend and thought it would be a good time to tackle the eye issue at the same time.

They should be sensitive to light if it is pinkeye. I don't have pinkeye but have several whose eyes water in response to allergins such as pollen, seeds, scratches from rough grass like orchard grass. They will form eye "boogers" for want of a better word. I had a young calf this week whose eyes were watering. I wondered if it was pinkeye. Got her in the chute and examined her. I did not see inflamed conjuntive tissue which is the white mucus appearing tissue around the eye and under the lids. I washed with vetericyn which would help if it was pinkeye.

Some will just water a lot in the heat of summer no matter what. The beefmasters I have seem to do it more than the chars.

I got my calf in the chute again. See the picture under subject, "Uneven Sclera - Lucky_P". Does not seem to be any thing wrong just watery eye. Either allergins or as greybeard said heat of summer.

About all of our holstein steers had pink eye, we had them up on Sunday. All got LA300 in the neck, hope that cures it.
