I am in the process of building a squeeze chute or at least planning stages :lol2: I have a question or 2 about the thickness of the tubing- this is what I have so far the main frame is made of 2.5 x 2.5 x 3/16 steel
but am wondering what thickness the actual squeeze panels should be? and here lies the question?

Could some of you with squeeze chutes measure the size tubing and thickness or guage of the following on your chute I need the main frame, the squeeze frame, the drop down tubes, the floor( thickness of metal on the floor) over all length and width? Please!!!

I know what your thinking look it up on the websites, but they dont seem to give metal thickness. I have only a small heard so buying one new, well you know the story and used I might as well buy new for the price of used in my area which is in ohio. I do get a pretty good deal on steel and and have welder and basic metal working tools or at least have access too.

Do not go through the bother of a chute if you are that small - use a gate squeeze.

Start looking around at auctions - sometimes the chutes go cheap and in fact might be cheaper than buying and building

Lots of info on gates as squeezes on this site

thats good advice but have been down that road. any sales with a chute or headgate go for lots more money than they should and in one sale I dont know what the headgate was made of but they paid full price of a new one.
I look everyday on craiglist and ebay auctionzip, farm and dairy with no luck. I should say that is reasonable close to me. I can find a few in cattle country anyday of the week but I draw the line on driving to texes or nebraska!

I also have other motives such it will be a good father son project for a young welder.

I do have a wash chute which I thought about modifying, but their has been more than one occasion I could have really used a chute of some sorts such as a couple gates, so if I could get those dimesions I could get an estimate together and see if it is viable to do! So any help Please
