Last year after getting the mower out and having to start mowing the grass again, I had thought about spring and tried to make a poem out of it.

It was a good winter,
I hate to see it go.
Now it's spring,
and it's time to mow.

Spring brings many things,
chiggers, red bugs and such.
Yes they are a little bit of trouble,
but not that much.

Spring also brings senses of smell and sight,
of bonnets, brushes, and flora of the like.
With the moon overhead shining bright,
hearing the sounds of toads in the night.

Spring is nice sitting on the porch,
watching the new calves playing of course.
Robins, reds, and blues,
these delightful birds are clues.

Yes winter is gone,
and spring is anew.
Rejoice and enjoy,
said by more than a few.
