Have your camera handy as you folk in the Northern Hemisphere enter Spring, we will be having a contest in a couple of weeks 'Signs of Spring' as suggested by one of my favorite CT members :D

How about another one in April for those of us who live above 7000' or Up Nort?

Rego - Maybe but I think we are slightly out numbered, we either sit this one out or see if we have any pics taken from previous years :)

I didn't see where is says it has to be "this" spring..... ;-)

kidding around... in all seriousness I think I'm going to be outclassed on this one again and might as well sit back and watch. Do you get noticable spring changes in South Africa?
We get the flowers progressively appearing, but the grass grows all year round so there's no sea change like I remember in Scotland when one day you saw snowdrops peeping through the snow, a few months later you looked out the window and the grass was growing and then a week later you could sit down and watch the grass leaping out of the ground, just round about the time the spring lambs started kicking up their heels. By that time the further-southers thought it was mid-summer already.

In most areas there is a definite change, warmer areas such as the North Coast are not so noticeable.
The area that I stay in has relatively harsh winters experiencing white and black frost so most plant life is killed off/dormant. Most areas celebrate Spring day on the 1st Sept whereas we are a month later. Change of season to me is like a holiday :D

Just a reminder to those of you that are experiencing 'signs of spring' or will be shortly to take your pics and hold onto them for a while - we are waiting for those Up Nort folks to see some signs before we hold the contest. :D
