I wish I had a dollar for every sippy cup that fell under the car seat, bed, couch, etc. Normally found them before they leaked. Sorry, I have no ideas to help.

That was going to be my suggestion. But do it on a day when you can have all the windows open..............

DB, A local fellow comes on our local radio station every morning who sells Alpine air purifiers. His claims are near miraculous about what his product will do when run inside an auto overnight. There are many different size units. You might check around your locality for something similar.

Experience from the 2 vehicles I restored says pull out the carpet and buy new insulation, because most likely it is the insulation under the carpet that is retaining the smell. You can get the carpet clean but the insulation will not clean, and the insulation is usually pretty cheap if you go aftermarket.

okey dokey... this is recoverable... way better than a box of crayons in stuffed in the little pocket behind the drivers seat all weekend long on 100+ degree days...

get a jug of ammonia and 4 things to contain it (tupperware, coffee cans, etc.)

Put 1 open container of ammonia in each spot (driver, passenger, and 2 in the back)... lock the doors and windows and leave in the sun for at least a day and a half.

ammonia is a pretty harsh chemical for a truck that hauls a toddler.

You don't get in the truck while it's in there... it absorbs the rank smell. Leave it overnight, remove in the morning... I guess I didn't finish the instructions very clearly. My bad. :dunce:

where is that WD-40 thread ;-)

Try putting those sheets you put in the dryer in the air vents. Its what we use to keep our dorm rooms smelling fresh.

Now don't cry over spilt,,,Oh nevermind. First, I'd invite my mother'n'law for a tour of the place  , then I'd pour vinegar on the spot and cover with a healthy dose of baking soda. Let it sit overnight then sweep or scoop it into your fry pan, add bacon grease. GRAVEY!!! ;-)

thats friggin hilarious! but how do you get the carpet hair outta the gravy

Go ahead and eat the hair with the gravy - if you're frying eggs to go with the gravy a little hair won't hurt ya' when you think about where that egg came from!
Try ZorbX from Walgreen's - it's in a trigger spray bottle.

You can try all the above but the trurt is, just live with it. It will be gone in a week if you leave your windows down whenever you can. I have had two of these spills in my truck in the last year and worked very hard on the first one only to find it didn't help and I didn't do much to the second one and the smell left in about the same amount of time.

Throw the truck away :D

Had one of the boys pop the top off one , not sure how.. anyway... all over the carpet.... I shampooed... didn't work good enough, then I tried some of that dry stuff you scrub in and vacuum up... had to throw the vacuum out. Every time you turned it on it smelled like sour milk...UGH

Spoiled milk inside the truck is worse than pizza and beer vomit after a Saturday night at the drive in. Somewhere up the thread someone suggested leaving the winders open which I think is good but throw a little baking soda in on top of the sippy cup spill.

Sorry to hear of your troubles there db  Okay, okay, an older fella I know who worked in the airline business for years said when cleaning out a plane they would throw those prepackaged coffee packs around and it would soak up all the smells really well. Tried it in my car after my daughter horked in it and it worked wonders! I had tried everything listed in here too, but nothing worked like the coffee.
