Sometimes it's almost like they must be kidding

>>do you ever find anything on that deal<<

I'm confused. What deal?

I am not getting in tigerstripe biz.

I am trying to wade into the Hereford Biz slowly. I still have mostly commercial Angus cows. Although I have been selling them off in drafts. So my numbers are way down.

I am finding it hard to find registered Hereford females at a decent price.

I guess I must be missing the down side of this. Overpriced by about 4 or 5 hundred bucks it seems, but....... :???:

Looks like exactly the bull I'm looking for, if he was about 18 months old instead of 8.

Just goes to show ya . There's someone for everyone. Make him an offer maybe he will come down.

WLM,

Come to Tennessee and buy yourself a truck load. I was at the Tennessee Beef Agribition Show last weekend at Middle Tennessee State University. Really nice registered Herf heifers that had just been shown sold for 750 to 800.00. Some really nice looking stock 12 months to 16 months old. Crowder was there too....he can vouch for how cheap they went. If I had it in the budget I would have bought some and I don't even raise herfs.

Give him another year...might surprise you but still won't be worth nearly that much money anytime.

maybe he's gonna make a bucking bull out of him,, they make some of the best

He's not the worst one I've seen. For 8 mths old considering he's on native pasture he's ok. Bit more depth would do him some good. Fine bone seems to be common with brahmans at stud level too. I've also seen plenty of hf x brahman tiger stripes.

Not my type and not worth that much but he's hardly a demetrius.

Were they asking $1,250 for demetrius? I forget!
I don;t think Beefy would have parted with Demetrius for that paltry sum

WLM,
What area of the country are you in? I'm guessing either Texas (Wichita Falls) or Kansas? If you look hard enough there's plenty of great registered Hereford genetics they're just not as easy to find as Angus, I can suggest several good Hereford guys but they aren't necessarily right in your backyard, let me know if you need more help finding some

I agree, he's not a bad calf. Actually I would go so far as to say he's a nice calf.

Granted I wouldnt keep a crossbred bull intact, as I dont think xb bulls should have a part in any breeding program, and of course he is not worth that much money.

But I hardly think he's deserved the ridicule and criticism he's getting.

He's got good enough structure. He's displaying pleasing muscling, considering he's been risen on native grasses. For his age he's really not a bad calf.
