We call those lillies, Fairy Lillies. I've always wanted to get some bulbs and plant them at the church in the shape of a cross. Thought that would be neat.

Relatively easy to grow in a botanical garden, I suppose, with an unlimited budget. Not so easy in a natural environment with all the demands placed upon said. They grow only in a very specific environment called a bog. No incentive to maintain for people trying to squeeze every dollar than can off the land.

the farm is about half bog and half sand hill (and quicksand where they meet LOL!)

Beefy, since you have a lot of sand hill, maybe you know the name of these blue fowers? They only grow in the poorest, least fertile sand around. They'll even grow on top of a gopher hole. They bloom for a few weeks in March-April. Probably about 12 inches tall. Look real nice. I'd like to know what to call them. I've just been refering to them as blue flowers.

You did a good job reviving the snapdragons. Is that a wild Iris? Reason I ask is that I saw some wild iris the other day when I was walking in the woods. Didn't get a pic. Didn't have the camera. You see alot of unusual flowers this time of year walking in the woods because you have to constantly be looking at the ground for rattlesnakes.
