Some of my Mounts

Very nice sky. You must have some unique genetics going on over there. Some of those bucks have some freaky stuff going on. I like unique racks.

Thanks Hoss yea.. I like the weird one with the drop tine looking horn the best. He wasn't a monster buck but i liked the weird rack. Most of those deer were killed at my place and grandma's place where I manage them the best I can.

I don't know if they still have it, but several years ago there was an Internet sight that you could pay to hunt from. The gun was set up so your mouse controlled in a rotation mode and they would feed the animals. When they came in you just pointed and clicked to shoot your animal from home. Sorriest thing I ever saw.

Now dang it, I turned the heater in the house completely off and got up at 5 a.m. to take a shower and put on my scent blocker underwear, face paint, and fox urine. I sat glued to that monitor for hours not making a sound, other than opening the fridge real quiet and popping a top once in a while and I put the foot ball games in a small window at the bottom with low volume. It was a real sacrifice and I earned that forked horn.

Sky,

I don't shoot the big the deer because I like to watch them frolic in the wild and see what kind of rack they will have the next year.

Nice collection.

Now, if you want to start a thread on way that a person has screwed up a chance at a monster buck, I can fill a few pages as I have literally blown my chance at some great bucks pretty much yearly for 23 years straight. Except last year, which I was only able to hunt a day or two and took a decent one, and the year I was living in Rockies. I know it has to be a record.

LMAO.. frolic in the wild... thanks commercial... Hey I can help you with that thread for sure but seeing as I generally hunt everyday from nov-jan I get probably alot more chances to redeem myself lol

Here are some of my bow kill pics. I have never mounted a gun killed buck because I do most of my killin with archery tackle. I have a few bigger ones that I don't have pics of on this computer. I may post pics later tonight. I have a clean 8 pt that scores in the mid 150's. Talk about a tall rascal!

Very nice Hoss... I was looking at your deer and looked like your deer hair are longer like the deer i use to kill when I lived in the mountains. I have never killed a mountable deer by bow yet. Typically I only bowhunt maybe 2 or 3 times and often none because im trying to get all my work done so i can be off in nov dec and jan. My deer mounts are mostly black powder then some during regular gun season.

Sounds like some of the high fence ranches around here. AND if they don't have the animal you want they have a buyer who will go to where ever he has to, make the purchase, have it shipped, quaranteened, released right under your nose and we have a new "state record" and they have another PR coup.

Are some of those bucks From the lease you lost in Ilinois? :frowns:

I have killed hundreds of deer and never mounted one.
The only thing I have mounted is a 31" speckled trout.
I plan on killing one for the wall this year. I am seriously thinking of shooting it with that Model 94 32-40 I was given and hang it under the mount. As the other stuff in the wood's I don't shoot anything we don't eat except rattlesnakes and hogs.
If it leaves me and my stuff alone I leave it alone. I don't have a problem taking out varmits that start getting into things they are not supposed to.
