This is a Foresight heifer out of a Leachman Right Time cow:

She's standing crooked, but this is a Final Answer heifer out of a New Design 036 cow:

And a Net Worth bull calf, stretching after I woke him up.

my sitz alliance calves are hitting the ground now, gotta say though, the more angus influence im getting the uglier the calves, but they smell sweet at sale time.. i know im a victim of the times but i gotta eat :cowboy:

The Foresight heifer looks similar to mine. I would post a pic, but they screwed up the site and I can't anymore.

Frankie you can put a bow on that foresight heifer and have her shipped to Colo any time it's convenient.

Frankie,

The Forsight heifer is a real looker. I kept one from last year that looked very much like that. She looks great as a 1 yr old now. That is the way I like'em to look.

I like the Final Answer calf. Just because she isn't standing pretty doesn't mean she isn't as nice. Hopefully she keeps that nice deep body

Now to see how they grow.

I'd like to have a closer picture, but her mom walked between us, gave me a dirty look and took the heifer away. For some reason she's more protective this year than she was last year. Maybe because this one is a heifer? I do like her a lot, but the plan right now is to sell her and some other Jan-born heifers at the OBI sale in October. :(

She was laying down and got up when I came close, but she really wanted to come over and smell of the dog. That's why she's a bit crooked. I like her too. We have another FA heifer out of a Krugerrand cow about the same age. IMO, she's the nicer of the two, but she didn't get up when I came close to her so I didn't bother her. At that age, they all look like keepers. These are our first FA calves and they're out of first calf heifers, so I am interested in seeing how they grow. They were sure born easy, got up and nursed. Unless he turns up a Fawn Calf carrier, we'll probably use him again.

I tried to get a picture of one of my Foresight yearling heifers, but it didn't come out too well. We'll be breeding two of them in April. What are you breeding yours to?

I've got some Focus calves that will be hitting the ground in April from a group of 5 heifers. If I like them I may decide to use him again on this heifer. Just to clarify Frankie....my heifer is not a Forsight calf she just looked very much like yours. I hope I didn't mislead.

Sorry. I misunderstood. I've just been pondering what to breed to the Foresight hiefers we've kept. Thought you might have some experience or suggestions.

Frankie do you consider those bulls to be terminal crosses or cow makers. I know they all offer alot of growth and I jus wondered how you felt about them.

To a Gelbvieh bull

I haven't looked at the EPD's much but ABS has a couple bulls (other that In Focus) that some of the guys out here like on heifers.

LCC New Standard
SAF Connection

Some like the New Design 878 bull as well but I think he may a little heavier BW than the other 2. My bull supplier has been using RJ Partisover Anchor pretty heavy on his Gelbvieh cows. He likes the Balancer bull calves from this mating but I talked to him last night and he thinks that the three top selling bulls in his sale next month will be ET calves out of the Leachman Right Time bull and the JBOB3298K cow.

"bishopcattleco"-

Your comment is interesting, but I am curious about what you mean - EXACTLY - by your saying they "look just like those".
Sure, they are "black" in many salebarns, but - do they look "just like those"? Many calves are black, have four legs, a head and a tail. But most frequently - that is where the resemblance ends! Could you explain the exact comparisons?

Thank you.

doc harris i know they dont have the papers or the breeding behind them.but they look just like the calves i buy every week from the sale barn.the second calf would be lucky to bring 60 bucks at the salebarn.

bcc-
I made no mention regarding "papers behind them". I am talking about the calve's phenotype - not their genotype. Could you describe - in detail - your opinion of these calves phenotypes? . . . and how they are similar to the calves that you purchase every week? Could you describe your dislike of the second calf, given the explanation of how he is standing. We all know that a picture is NEVER a satisfactory method of judging any animal in its entirety, for the reason just mentioned - and many others. But, given their ages and general circumstances of their pictures, what specifically do you NOT like about them. Specifically. Details would be helpful to see your points.

For some odd reason, I doubt Frankie will sell that one for 60 bucks.
