I thought I would post a few pics I took this afternoon of some of this years calves. The older ones were all born in March so they are roughly 3.5 to 4 months old. They are all Balancer calves sired by Gelbvieh or Balancer bulls. I'll post more bull calf pictures when I decide which ones will make the cut. Too early to tell.

This little girl peeping out from behind her momma was born last week. The momma is a registered Balancer out of Summitcrest MA Alliance 730 and the sire is a purebred Gelbvieh named CMFS Paradox Atlas.

This heifer is a good one. Her momma is out of Mitty In Focus and her sire is a Balancer bull CMFS 6288 McMinnville Anchor. She might be a keeper.

Here are a couple of big butted bull calves. All out of Paradox Atlas.

This is a really nice, super fast growing heifer out of a King Rob Red Angus cow and sired by Paradox Atlas. She is a full sister to the bull calf that weaned 830 lbs at 6.5 months old last year. Her older sister weaned at almost 800 lbs at 7 months. This one is just 3.5 months and is probably 400 lbs. She is extra, extra thick. No matter what bull the momma has been bred to she has weaned a monster calf. I attribute the massive growth to her. I kept the last heifer out of her and she just had her first bull calf this spring and it is growing very fast. The daughter I kept has really moderated her growth. She will probably top out at 1,350 to 1,400 lbs would be my guess.

The little bulls look good real uniform. That last heifer is for sure a keeper. Lots of power but still femine! :tiphat:

I culled the last of my poor doers earlier this year. While the calves in the pictures are a few that have struck my fancy I would say it is a pretty good representation of all of my calves this year. This year may not be the heaviest weaning weight year I have had I do like the fact that they are all very uniform and built the way I like them. I will be evaluating them closely at weaning. Right now all of my commercial heifers are spoken for by a long time customer.

I do have a couple of ugly cows but they are camera shy

I love looking at pictures of other people's cattle and farms this was a real treat good looking cattle and a beautiful setting!
