Sold our steer calves this morning.

Oct 29 delivery. 525 lbs @ $2.17 and 425 lbs @ $2.32. Not bad considering all factors.

I was hoping it would be 50¢ higher this year on the 525's, but a fella should make it another year on that.

Equivalent money today would be $1.63 US and $1.74 US respectively. I think that is about max what you will see for prices this fall here, more likely much less.

If I can get $1.50 US for high 4/low 5 weight calves I am more than happy. Get too greedy one way and it swings hard the other way.

Private deal. Have had a couple people call me already and thank me for starting the calf trade in western Canada. The buyer and his wife run 1200 cows here. She told me she would take that for their calves.

Do they want another 9? Should be about that weight range, might have a bunch of 6 wts too.. I was planning on selling Oct 1st.
Getting around all the fees from the auction is kinda nice too
