Have you purchased a replacement yet?

No. I have 3 open heifers, they will not be 15 months old until December/January. Two open cows that will need to be bred in Dec. I will AI as needed since I do that myself. My big season will be May. I plan to shop for a bull in January.

No replacement?
Have I ever told you how much I like your cattle, friend? ;-)

How old is he? Nice looking fencing.

That is the holding area for going into the handling facility. It is a very good fence, backed-up by three strands of electric. Two on the inside and one on the outside. He is 3 years old.

Results: Boy am I good. I said 1700 pounds; he went 1,675. I said $1.00 per pound; he went .96 cents. He was rated "lean".

Good rate on him. Sorry you will miss his disposition.

You won't miss his genes tho.
Especially his butt genes.

That says it all Anne. He was extremely gentle. I have cows that are more playful but none of my cows go through the crowding pen, sweep and down the alley with the ease he did. Then he would walk into the chute and stand. My old chute would not adjust to his neck size so I could not catch his head. But he didn't move to the sting of the shot unless it was LA 200 or 300. I took his blood from a small prick to his ear and he was an absolute gentleman. Then he would calmly walk out.

I just hated his rear. Not jus the smallness. But I believe he had some anatomical defect in his pelvic girdle. When he walked, his rear legs were rigid and it appeared that there was a range of movement issue.

But what may go unnoticed was his feet. Look at his back feet in the picture. There were big growths between his claws. They would get cracks and cuts in them and they clearly were a pain for him. But he was a gentleman!
Forgive these boots, it was muddy:

Did Star take this picture?

How did you know? She is a wonderful girl. I waited 63 years to find my true love.

Ahh, how sweet!

Now you can give that arm a workout, and practice your AI skills!!! Sounds like you did good with him.

I guess with all the political correctness disease going around, everyone is afraid to bring up the great American legend, Sitting Bull
