Sold a few heifers Monday, black baldies off of first calf cows so I wanted to give their mammas a break. Most averaged 460 and and went as #2's. They sold for $2.49 which I was pleased with but I'm curious as to how that relates to prices in other parts of the country.

Did you go to Lynchburg?

Yes I sure did and I stayed to watch most of the sale. Wow those guys were really fighting over those smaller steers. I also had one 440lb heifer and a 560lb red steer, both graded S1 and sold for $2.20 I was pleased with those prices and think I will bring another load in a few weeks.

Aren't you glad you took that advice from an ol boy from Copper Hill, VA ? ;-)

I sold one similar to yours black baldie 448
And got 267 for him in texas
Thats good, unfortunately we don't get as good of prices back here in the east.
Yes thanks Sky, looks like I would have given away a couple hundred bucks minimum if I had hauled to the place I had planned on earlier. I certainly plan on bringing another load. Maybe we can meet up then.

Your 460lb #2 heifers did very well. I'm suprised they did that good as Far East as you are. I know alot of places between here and there where they would have been cheaper.

I give my man Sky a lot of credit for knowing this market well enough to tell me when and where to take them.

Yes your % of the profit is me buying you lunch if we are there on the same day. If you want more you will have to fight the wife over it and I'm warning you she has a mean streak. ;-)
