All we got was some 15 mph wind, blowing dirt and cooler temps. Nothing but sunshine in the forecast for the next 10 days.

Started raining last night and is still raining. 100% chance today. We sure need it too, except for the folks picking cotton but I'm sure they could use a long weekend off.

Got some Wed when the cold front came in. I don't know how much. Maybe half an inch.

Getting some much needed rain here. They say we are 6" behind, but my place is dryer that last year. Ponds held good last year but have been hauling water for 2-3 weeks now, maybe I can stop now.

We need it to stop raining here. Got another 2 inches from Tuesday evening to Thursday morning, after getting another inch last week. Normally, we are 2/3 done with harvest at this time, but this year probably aren't even 1/3 done. Think it is like that in a lot of places. It's good for my cattle, pastures are still green and the grass is still growing, but slowly not that daytime highs are in the 50s. The weaned calves are dealing with some mud, however.

No rain agin this week. Three tanks are completely dry. 33 degrees this a.m. Lots of wind two days ago.

All the cows are moved into a pasture with water in the tank. No grazing there so they are getting hay.

I still have plenty of grazing but no water on that side of the road.

No one is buying hay so I am not baling two fields.

No water at all on the 125 acre leased property.

I could have used some rain from Ike but didn't get it then either. We're hurting. Not many brush fires tho.

I've got the opposite Backhoe, water but no grazing. My oats are up and could use a good soaking. Oats and clover I planted in the winter pastures are coming up as well as a lot of gulfcoast rye and rescue grass. It all needs some water. Waterholes are at their lowest levels since "96 but everything has access to well water. Got em cut off the winter pasture now that it is trying to come up, so I'm having to put out a little more hay to make up for the lost pasture.

I guess we would really be in bad shape if we had not gotten some rain out of Ike.

Strange how it all works. We have had enough rain through out the summer to sustain the coastal fields but no run off to fill the tanks/ponds. Pleanty of grazing but no water unless we haul it.

I have not irrigated any pastures out of the river. I may have to go and see if there is enough irrigation pipe to reach the pond from the river. And then if the pump starts :D

We got a big thunderstorm early Wednesday morning and lost power for 4 or 5 hours. Out here in the country you never know when the power might just go off. And it rained a bunch Thursday too. Sure needed it.

We got 2.5" of rain over the past couple days. Definitely do not need it now, trying to get the corn combined. :( This is bad, probably won't be able to get any corn stalks baled or field work done. It was 41* for the high today so it just doesn't dry out anymore. On the bright side, our yields are tremendous, best we've ever had, hopefully we can get it in the bin one of these days.
