I hand mix a different feed mix for starting calves out with some sweet feed added to the mix. Been thinking about looking for a large used Job Box type chest to keep this mix in. Feed it out in 5 gallon buckets anyway and seems like it would be better than barrels. Opinions?Knaack 4830_pi_open.jpeg

Keeps the coons and possums out. Will definitely be easier to get the feed out. Keeps the feed dry if it's not under shelter. Only drawback...the price of one.
I have one in a barn I put sack feed in to keep the varmits from tearing into the bags.

I use plastic forklift totes. One has a lid the other I just have a sheet of plywood. They work good. Might be a cheaper option than a job site box if u can find them

I had 1340lbs of cubes loaded into a square cage tote today. Cut it down to the second row from the top so I could reach the bottom. Working out of a super sack gets difficult towards the end. I like to job box idea tho
