slaughter ?

We just had a bred heifer have a still born calf so we won't be keeping her in the herd. She's around 27 months old and of course looks great. Are there any problems with waiting about a month and having her slaughtered for our own meat?

Nothing wrong at all...Just talk with your butcher and find out the best time to wait. Pregnancy and labor hormones make the meat watery and will have a off smell when cooking....We learned this the hard way and ended up giving all of it to a local exotic animal place... They should know the best amount of time to wait...
