What do the 9,000, 10,000, and 16,000 mean? Is this related to the strength of the twine?

Place we normally buy from carries 9,000 ($59) and I went to a place closer today and they carry 10,000 ($63).

Also I think since the rolls of twine are about the same size, the diameter of the strand is smaller. 16,000 is generally used for round baling and 9,000 for square baling at least around here.

Same here. I use 16,000 for round baler and 10,000 for square baler. Quality does not matter on the round baler, but cheap twine will make a preacher cuss on my square baler.

Thanks guys. So this stuff is cheaper than a penny per foot. The 10,000 is $0.0063 per foot. Odd that two local New Holland dealers carry different twine, but the 10,000 is the cheaper of the two and closer to me.
