Single shank Sub Soiler

I inherited a single shank sub soiler, I got it out to go over my garden ground and some pasture. I can not get the point into the ground more the maybe 6-8 inches. It is not hard ground. I have a 65 hp JD tractor, I understand it does not have down pressure. I assume it has to do with the angle of the plow. I have shortened the center link, I have extended the center link, still no difference.
I'm open to your Ideas and knowledge.

Shortening the link to make the point face the dirt should make it bite if it's not wore out. A new blade on those things looks like a boot, it has a pretty long front that kicks out. I only mention it being worn our because they are usually pretty easy to get started and it is going to load up a 65hp.
