Opinions Please.
Sire: HC Hummer(nowdeceased)
Dam: SVF Sheza Lady Too
Her dam is a full sister to SVF Sheza beauty who was Denver Champion a couple of years ago and high seller at 20,750.

The heifer is a March 05 heifer. She weighs about 1500. She is 4 months bred.

This is a picture of the heifer that was taken for the sale catalog. It was probably taken around January 06.

Very nice heifer. I really liked the Hummer offspring - pretty expensive semen if you can find it.

Genex carried Hummer semen this past summer. We have a heifer bred to him.

Nice heifer! Got some nice length with out giving up any depth. You going to show her any more? Bet she will even look better in 3 or 4 months before she calves. Or is she retired now?

I take it Black Simmental are frowned upon in Australia? Is it just Simmental or are all Black cattle not very popular over there?

Black cattle are very popular over here. Earlier in the year some black Simmentals sold for good money down south. They had both traditional and black. The blacks made the money and from reports from friends the blacks undeservedly made too much money as the traditional ones were better. Its a shame when this happens.I really don't see the need when traditional ones are very good.

AC - when Simm first started going black - anything black brought great money - now black is a dime a dozen so only the great ones bring great money. Great reds will bring just as much as the great blacks now - but both are discriminated against SPOTS. Personally, I love the spots - on reds or blacks - really makes them stand out. In our line of customers, its hard to sell one with white FEET or tail. They "perceive" that to be the spotting gene. Face & bellie are OK.

Bull Barn has HC Hummer semen listed for $30. That's not expensive. Is there another HC Hummer? Just curious.

The pictures aren't great. She is not retired. I am going to take her to Stock Show in January and from there Regionals in NE as a pair and the State Fair and county fairs as a pair next summer. Due to moving to CO from AL. I've only gotten to show her 3 times so far(well 4 if you count the 4th place she won in a HORSE show) but She was 1st in class twice, 3rd in class once, Grand Champion at one show and Reserve Champion at another. I like her mostly because of her SUPER temperment.

Welcome to Colorado! Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of opportunities to show cattle in Colorado.
