We are almost out of hay and I'm trying to locate a few rolls to make it to the end of winter. Called a local hay supplier today. Said he has something called Signal Sweetgrass, came from Arkansas. Anybody know anything about it?

Price seemed ok, just need a little more info.

Thanks,

Better than snowballs.....er, mud pies. :) Just couldn't resist. Not sure if what is comming down is the same thing, but what I know of or call would call signal grass is one of the grasses that grow in crops. Looks a lot like colorado or crabgrass with a spiky seed head. I guess it would make fairly good hay if it was cut right cause it does have a pretty nice leaf.

Just curious, what kind of price quote did you get?

Vette,

Price was $65 a 4 x 5 roll.

Not much you can do about that. I guess it could be worse. We could really use and early spring this year. Starting to look better here but we did have a light frost Monday morning. Anything beginning to green up around you yet?

Vette,

We are starting to get some green up. Our clover and ryegrass are coming on. Just need a couple of weeks of warm weather. I figure we will still hay through March. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we won't need it after that.

Come on spring.

Can;t tell if it's greening up. The snow has it covered

Always something Dun, Last year I remember all you folks was complaining about all the mud. At the time I would have been happy to take all they had. Well, I'm just about full up on mud now and am willing to send some back to put on top of your snow. Good thing you live on that pile of rocks. Would really get muddy after all that snow melts if you had any dirt. :D
