I've been using a sickle for a few years now, and thinking about going to a haybine when the sickle plays out.

Tell me why I should go with the haybine rather than getting another sickle (aside from ease of hookup and cost)?

I've ruled out the diskbine simply because of cost, weight, hp, etc.

Thanks

Along with your rollers for drying you also have the reel on front that helps feed, comb the grass into the sickle helping on clog ups. I used one for years and then went with a 3 point hitch disc mower.

only improvement would be it helps your hay condition faster

I thought about this, but dont think its much of an issue for me - my hay is already getting too dry before I can get it all rolled. Only one tractor here.

I'm leaning to the haybine just for the ease of hookup at this point then. Lordy knows that sickle can be a right pain :?

Thanks for the replies!

I use drum mowers.
I have had sickle mowers, cutter conditioners, and 3 brands of disc mowers.
Im not a color of brand person.
If your color concerned drum mowers are out there in green yellow and red or pale redish orange.
