Hi.I have a 6 month old jersey bull calf. From one day to the next he got sick.He is not able to get up and stand.Like he has no strenght. At times,he can't hold his head up.It like shakes and he has his head turned to his body.Sometimes his legs shake as he is laying down. Also his eyes like role back. There are days that he looks normal and is very alert but can't get up.I have tried to stand him up but he can't.like he is weak. He will eat hay and feed when i put it near him.But he just uses the restroom where he lays.Anyone out there have any idea what might be wrong?any medicines out there for this? I thank you guys for your time.

If you can't call the vet and get him to come out, my suggestion would be to put him out of his misery then have him posted to see what it was wrong. Maybe it's something you can avoid in the future. This is just my opinion.

#1....take his temperature....indicates metabolic rate etc...
100f-101f is usual....

#2....is he pooping? if so, check color/consistancy....if not, then there is your problem....

#3....call a vet.

PS to last message....
if the temp is 103 or over, hit em with an antibiotic, and then CALL THE VET....
