sick calf

My eight week old calf was fine in the morning. He drank his two bottles of Calf Balance 22 as usual. In less than three hours his stomach and penis area had swollen up and he is in pain. He scoured for a day then I was told to give him Pan Aqueous which seemed to help somewhat. Before giving him Pan aqueous he laid on his side with eyes half rolled back. We have been trying to get him to walk around but he returns to lying down almost immediately. He wont eat, so we have been tube feeding him electrolyte water. It has been three days now and no real improvement. Now doo doo flies are laying maggots on him so we are trying to keep them off by washing him down and combing. What do we do ? We are not cattle people only watching our friends place for a few weeks. This calf's mother died at birth and we have been raising him. He got colostrum when he was first born. Help

Sounds like you are doing everything you can.....some just dont make it......Put him out of his suffering?

Rereading the post i see you said stomach area swollen...as in navel?

I am thinking perforated ulcer or an impaction, he needs a vet asap .
