We had (and this is the point of the post) cow due on the 16th. They've been out in the stalks and haven't wanted to come up to the yard. Just this morning my husband said how he wanted to get that cow in. It's supposed to get to 0 and blowing 20-30 tonight. Well, I looked out this morning and saw a little bundle of joy way out in the field, cute little bugger. Hubby went out with the loader and got it up. Don't know what it is yet, hopefully a heifer. It is 10 days early, I'd be suprised if it's a bull. The cow is a Northern Improvement daughter out of a Mailman and the bull was a herf. `

Well, at least you got the calf in, hope the mother followed too! When I have to do that, I end up walking backwards while I'm carrying the calf so the mother can see it (and I can see the mother!) otherwise the mother gets confused and won't follow me. Congratulations!

Checked the calf, it's a bull! A low front came through and I supposed that got her started. I'll post a pic later, too cold now.
