Show Steer (Picture)

Downloading some more picture, thought I would get opinions on my Son's Show steer. We went to a Private treaty auction to look at some heifers and a bred cow. And ended up coming home with a Steer instead, They had a low turn out and got him for $850.00, could not pass it up. He was almost worth that much at the stock yards. He is a Maine X Angus around 1/2 and 1/2. Pick away.

From what I can tell, it looks like you made a heck of a buy. He appears to be pretty sharp fronted, and looks like he has posts for legs. It's not much picture, but from that angle he kind of looks like he might be a little flat in the butt. If he has the right muscle pattern, he should do well. Sure ought to dress up nice.

IMO it looks like that you didn't get stuck to bad. Maybe a $100.00 or so.

I LOVE the hair. Definitely a steer that should do well at fitted shows. His head is down but it still looks like he might be a little weak topped. One you might scratch on the scrotum when the judge isn't looking to level that top out. He also looks like he might hock in a little. But overall, I like him.

OOH!! I like the hair!! We can NEVER get our steers that hairy...makes me mad. But he's nice. Adequate bone, hair to cover faults....overall Really Nice ;-)
