Given the uncertainty of the election outcome, I'm wondering if there will be a shortage of ammunition and/or guns in 2009. However, since 40 of the 50 States have "Right To Carry" laws and some 1/3 of the USA population owns one or more guns, I sincerely have doubts that the gun laws in the USA will change anytime soon, perhaps in my lifetime... Given the nature of the USA population with their appreciation of individual rights (exempting some of the radical "anti" everything people), I think if anyone or any group tried to disarm the USA citizens there would be another "Civil War"...lol. We need to prosecute the Criminals, not law abiding citizens...

I recall something on MSNBC talking about some airports that still allowed people with a Concealed Handgun Permit to enter the Terminal (but not past the security check points). In this respect, it was reported that one of the administrators or managers of the DFW Airport indicated that Texans love their guns and the permit holders were the law abiding people. As such, DFW Airport still allowed properly licensed people to be armed at the airport. There were several other airports in the country that had the same policy; however, I forgot who they were.

Any guns or ammo I buy from now on will be bought from a gunshow or from another person. Osama Obama wants to have the State Police in every state confiscate every firearm we own. Best not to leave a paper trail on your purchases. ;-)

Might want to stock up on reloading supplies as well, what I always liked about the 44 Mag is it will shoot 44 special, 44 Colt and 44 Russian.

I believe they have learned their lesson about direct confrontation with Us(gun owners). The new plan is to tax us out of existance. Look for incredible taxes on ammo, guns and loading components. The prices are already crazy because of the increased demand for copper and lead. I look for them to double again over the next few years. You can also look for some kind of assault weapon ban to come out of the NEW congress and Senate. Then when they get the Supreme court stacked we will see an interpretation of the 2nd ammendment that will amaze some people in this country. The Constitution is history, count your blessings, the America we have known for over 200 years is about to disapear, if not in the first administration then for sure in the second.

One things for sure, If you do not vote you will have been a party to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As they say in Chicago. Vote early and OFTEN

Think you probably "hit the nail on the head" 3 way!

In our area ammo has almost doubled in price the last couple of years. Now I'm paying $20 to 22. for a box of 50 hollow point .40 S&W. Shotgun shells have also doubled/tripled in past 3 or 4 years. I'm talking about the "quality" brands and not those after market or foreign brands. I only buy US of A major brands...guns are too expensive to use cheap ammo.

Taxes on ammo and cigarettes are an obvious strategy by the liberal tree huggers to hopefully price the average citizen out of these "sin behaviors".

My suggestion to reduce "greenhouse gases" and other "environmental impact" issues that the tree huggers continue to scream about with these "luxury" taxes:

  • 1. Perfumes
    2. Uncontrolled breeding of dogs, cats, horses
    3. Making more human babies over 2 replacements
    4. Taxes on bottled water (questional value of product) which also reduces plastic in landfills
    5. Gas guzzling "land yacht" vehicles for the urbanites
    6. Environmental taxes on chickens
    7. Other luxury taxes I can't think of at this time...

:help: :cowboy: ;-)

I heard the other day that the Anti's are pushing for deteriorating primers that only last 3 years. So that we won't be able to stockpile ammo.

They might be a little late for me and most of my friends. ;-) :cowboy:

3-way you did hit the nail on the head. STockpiling is the only way to go in my opinion. When I saw that a box of rifle shells cost $44 on sale..I about blew my lid. Good thing we do our own reloading. I think if the Anti-gunners, and Obama-followers have anything to do with it, they will want all of our ammo taxed or outlawed, or any other way to just get rid of it.

I loaded my gun safe up with ammo about 3 weeks ago just for the heck of it. Been working with my wife to improve her aim on all the guns in the house. She's darn good. Just seems to be a natural.

My husband says all women are natural shooters because we're so good at pointing our fingers at people.

The finger pointing thing....I probably deserve. If she ever points a gun at me, I'll probalby just "soil my laundry" and pass out.

have you ever tried "Fiochi " Shotgun shells suposed to be the best on the market and made in Missouri
Think they might be making handgun rounds now also
I've never used their shells but I use their primers when reloading for trap and I love them. Can't remember a dud or mishaped or otherwise unuseable one.
