Help Support CattleToday:

These are great posts, I always pull the plug on the water bowl anytime I put calves into a pen and let it run for 10-15 min. And salt block in the pens so they go and drink, I give some soft hay for the first day or two. But a balanced ration is always important.

When we get unknown calves in they get:
Bovishield Gold 5
7/8 way
One Shot
TSV-2
Ivomec
Then they stay in an isolation pen for 2 weeks and get sorted for size.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Draxxin and Excede antibiotics, what is the advantage of giving an antiboitic to a "healthy" calf opposed to the vacc listed above???

They are given as a preventive measure. Hopefully they will be affective against anything the calf may have gotten that hasn;t become obvious yet.
