Yeah, yeah I know.........it is uncommon for me to buy a new rifle and not shoot if for over a month. I have been busy and when I have not been busy it has rained buckets. To make a long story short I sighted it in with 6 rounds of standard Winchester 150 gr SP's. I shot the first round at 50 yards to see if it was on paper. It was about 4" to the left. I moved it out to 100, adjusted the Vortex scope (which tracked perfectly) and fired 5 more rounds. The 5 shot group was a measured .740 with my calipers and that was from a standing position off of a shooting stick. It could be scary accurate off of a bench with maybe a 1/2" group possible if I do my part. It is set right now to be 2.5" high at 100. I should be a dead on hold for anything that I'll shoot at around these parts. I am thinking this might be my go to rifle for next year. Next time I take it out I will go through my standard shoot / clean regimen to try and get the most out of it I can. I love the trigger. The only downside is the recoil. It is a light 6 lb rifle so it will beat you up a bit.

Hoss with the hammerforged barrel on the Tikka you probably could skip a lot of that shoot and clean stuff.

I'm getting ready to buy one I think. My wife said I have to sell a couple of the lower end trading rifles first. Just not sure on the blues or the stainless. It would be nice if the barrel was replaceable like the savage axis II is.

Tikka rifles seem to be shooters right out of the box. My son has a friend up and he bought a T3 in 270. My boy sighted it in off the bench for him. First two shots were touching about 3" high and a little left. He adjusted it for 1 1/4" high and the next 3 were right there. And he ran a bore snake with Remington bore cleaner between all 3 shots. I think I need one in .243 myself.

The T-3 is a lovely firearm with a glass smooth action and a great barrel. I had one in 223 but sold it because it was throated for hvy bullets and had a fast twist barrel but you couldn't load a round with a 69gr bullet into the magazine. A significant design flaw.

too late now. I hated trading it off as it was a present form my wife but I could not find any then. This was at least 8 years ago.
