Well, is hay time a bad time to sell? Private sale of 2nd stage Angus/Gelbvieh young cows, with 350-500 lb calves, all vacs & grain started, what would you Take for 4-6 pair? Not what would you Give ;-) I have a party interested, no price discussed yet. I would appreciate opinions of a top dollar price, these are nice cows. But local sale barn prices are slow b/cause of hay time. Not a good comparison IMO

Are these registered Balancers or just crossbred cattle? IF just crossbred cattle.....sell the 350-500 lb calves off of them. That is a $400-580 a head payday. Spring is always a good time to sell. If you can hold the cows for another month. They will gain good and be a lot heavier with the calves pulled off. Have a vet preg check them all for you and give them all their shots. Good young Bred replacements ought to bring $800 a head private treaty. You COULD float them on the internet at $1000-1100 each and see if you get some interest.

but bought off the farm of a local breeder. We took his word, and spreadsheet "records" of the animals. Thanks very much. How do you mean "float"? There are a few local forums that run classifieds on all kinds of merchandise, but I don't know of an internet site just trading cattle..
