Sellers Remorse

I know we are suppose to sell cattle it's why we are in the cattle business. I get attached to my cattle not like attached to my dog but to the genetics of a particular animal. That attachment makes me go back and forth on should I sell this cow and lose future genetic opportunities. Today a customer sent me a photo of a cow with the calf that was in her when he purchased her. I'm currently experiencing a touch of that sellers remorse lol the calf is a stud!the cow on the left is the cow he purchased her bull calf is out in front he is a Coleman Resolve.

There maybe a 900 lb 205 weaning weight ? He's a stud !

If you have anymore cows like that just stick them in the trailer with the bull when he comes.

Oh yes have several maternal sisters and a bunch of nieces that cow line worked really well for us. I am currently using a maternal brother of this cow as clean up on my heifers. When I find one that works I keep plugging the genetics in. I'm tickled his calf turned out this good I love it when genetics I sell work for our customers!

Edited I just realized I have a bred heifer out of this cow family bred to Resolve in the Maternal Gems sale. I am a fan of the Resolve calves.

I guarantee the good grass this calf is on hasn't hurt his growth a bit, I would love to have grass looking like this! But he is a forage specialist goes to show he's pretty good at what he does.
