Cheapest hybrid field corn I could find was $99.25 per 80,000 unit bag "DeKalb 743" (53 lbs. ) this year. Most BT corn is from $150.00 to $200.00 per bag. :roll:

The guy that delivered it said he had just delivered some $800.00 per bag cottonseed.

Has anyone signed or read the "Monsanto" Technology Seed Application for 2008? Scary.

Dad is a Syngenta dealer, and most of his seed corn is running $160-$210 a bag depending on any seed treatments. Running costs up to $73/acre to plant corn.

Yea, that part plus others!

They have the right to inspect my records and books at anytime, plus come in to my field and take samples for testing. They also reserve the right to tell me who I can sell my crop to.

And the list goes on...................

I paid 60.. for open pollinated seed. I'll use that plus some open pollinated seed I saved from last years corn crop. I've never used any of that GMO stuff. Wish you folks luck in the future. Sounds like your signature decides the future for you.

The agreement allows the farmer to only use the Monsanto brand of Roundup.

I'm sure some get by without it, but they can be challenged to provide the receipts for herbicides.

Chinese glysophate is getting pricey too. In the name of "Demand"? :roll:

Monsanto came down on a local guy about 3 yr ago. Big farmer.
There was a settlement, but part of the deal was that the settlement could not be discussed.
