First time went bad. Went well this time. I used a clamp to hold up the canister and the straw came out without any mess. I put the young heifer in the chute and she was relaxed. Got the gun loaded without any screw-ups. Went out, got her tail to the side. Got my arm in the right place and she relaxed. Pulled the gun out and went in past the urinary opening, leveled it out and was surprised how easy it went forward. When it stopped, I felt for the tip of the gun and discovered it was right at the cervix. Got hold of her cervix (small in diameter but seemed long) and put it over the gun even felt the ridges of the cervix as it went through the cervix. The only place I felt a unsure was getting the tip of the gun where I wanted it when I unloaded. I remember being too deep so I pulled back and when it was where I thought it should be, I hit the plunger.

Here is the heifer. Just got her and she came into estrus the next day.

She's just teething on it.
Glad your second time went better than your first

Does she need a post under her chin to hold her head up?

I saw that. She is a stout little girl. My only purebred. Simmental.

I saw it before it was changed, not that it matters, just thought it was someone else.

Guess there could be 2 other than Macon

You didn't see what you thought you saw. It was just a glitch. But I saw it too. :cowboy:

I thought she was special and got to drink from a straw!

She is a good looking heifer, Inyati13. Did you breed her to a Simmental?

She was born 1/7/12. Bred her to Top Hand. She is a little small right now. Top Hand is angus and suppose to be good CE.
