Very very new to AI'ing... I have 4 Simbrah heifers that we kept from this past year and it is about time to get them bred. We could put them with one of our Simbrah bulls but have really wanted to bring some Red Angus into the mix...on paper he appears to be an ideal heifer bull.

Has anyone used him, kept heifers from him, thoughts...?

I've thought the same thing. We have a great heifer bull still in the tank and that's the only reason we haven't tried him.

He'd be on my short list if I didn't already have a ton of heifer semen on hand from a pretty close relation. He'd be ideal for your situation where you're dealing with maximum heterosis.

He's 99.9% some purebreds aren't that pure.

Jus like the the poster, some people only want 1As and won;t fool with 1Bs. If you have 1A females and breed to a 1B bull the best that the offspring and future generations will be are 1B. It does reduce the market somewhat for breeding stock.
