The principals' explanation of the event is rather vague.
It stops well short of informing the students that it was not mandatory to participate and I very much suspect they relied on that age group's natural compulsion to want to be "part of the group", that is-- not be be seen as an outcast --to make them want to join in.
And how ironic.
The use of the in-school suspension room as location for the alternate activity was a stroke of genius on the school's part.
Bullied and not-so-subtly intimidated the students right into doing exactly what the school wanted them to.
IMO, the principal is being way less than truthfull.
Here kid--have a stigma!!
