I save some of my seed each year. Building a seed stripper one of these days so I can save more. I'll be :mad: if my open pollinated corn gets polluted with GM corn. There is no corn grown very close to me. Its too dry for there hybrid stuff to grow. I should be safe for a while.
 
I had been wondering about the outcome of this, although that award is probably small compensation for what that family's been through. To me that's the great danger of genetically engineered crops, that they can contaminate heirloom and self seeding varieties leaving them unable to reproduce. And to think that a giant corporation could also sue you on top of destroying genetic diversity and the ability of individual farmers around the world to produce their own seeds instead of buying patented varieties year to year.
