I come home and feed (normally don't feed till mid-November first of Dec). I eat supper, I play with the kids, then I go the the cattle range website and look at the goodies  . Then I look outside and see nothing but brown dead grass and lots of dirt. So I go to the weather channel website and see 10 days of 0% chance of rain. I then promise myself I wont go back to the cattle range website till next spring.

You get the point :cowboy:

Hope all of you folks get the rain you need. We have had a light sprinkle for two days, the pond is almost dry and the ground is absorbing all moisture, no mud anywhere.

What is this "mud" you speak of? It will pass Kerley, I just think it's funny that I just cant help but go back to the site day after day with no grass, no hay to be had, barely any water to speak of, and no chance of rain. But, guess what I'm gonna look at as soon as I hit submit on this post?

Look at the ground you own and the cattle you own and try to find something to be thankful for. If you can do that you are already a winner today and it is already different than yesterday!

Well said Vic. I think we all sometimes just look for the bad things and not the good. I'm guilty.

I hate treading water but I do have to admit that it is better than drowning.
I work seven days a week for months at a time so I know Alllllll about "stuck in a rut".... Focus on the positives, remind yourself constantly that what you're struggling with right now isn't permanent(This to shall pass), and focus on getting ready for the bright future. Do what you have to do in the meantime but don't make panic decisions that aren't necessary.
"The rut" might break a few spokes in the wheel, but that doesn't stop the wheel. :D
It'll be wet before you know it.

weve walked this thin line since july,an i hope i dont fall off anytime soon.its time to put some more hay the grass is gone.an start putting out feed as well.

You forgot to mention "post on Cattle Today". :cboy:
TT your right :D . And the original reason for my post got construed. I wasn't meaning to whine about the drought, it was ment to be funny because I am addicted to looking at cattle for sale every day even when I would I would need my head examined to do so.

I don't know what's nuttier, you looking at cattle to buy with no grass to feed 'em or me looking at them on Cattle Range with no land to keep 'em!

Hopefully you'll get some rain soon. No telling when I'll be able to get into this cattle thing full time.
