I have brought in some ear corn for backgrounding my next set of calves. They also get free choice hay.

I am considering trying salt limiting of ground ear corn feed. My mineral salesment discouraged this approach due to the effort required for adjusting the salt level to manage comsuption.

Any comment or suggestions on how to make salt limiting work well?

Some around here use Calcium Sulfate (Gypsum) as a limiter. I have heard that excess salt increases water intake so much that they fill up on water and don't eat enough feed.
