saler bull

would a black saler bull be a good choice for my braunvieh cross cows, thinking on either saler or beefmaster and want to keep the heifers.

i know nothing bout saler bulls.but my thinking is go with the beefmaster.the calves will hitt the ground growing.an man oh man what a cross that would be.i think when you got the heifers in your herd youd have a heck of a set of calf raisers.

I don't know much about them either, but I was visiting a customer of mine in ND last week, and I saw some dam good Salar bulls. The only ones I ever saw before were long legged and pencil gutted, and ussually had a poor disposition. But these were just the opposite. Deep bodied, thick rearends, long made, and pretty quiet too. I was really impressed with them. They run Red Angus cows and put a Salar bull on most of them. They do run some Red Angus bulls on them too. Anyway, pretty impressive set of bulls.
