Bred cows were all over mainly cheap due to low volume back to farm buyers.
Neighbor bought bred heifer by 7 for 1k.
I picked up some fancy Brangus cross heifers, breed them run them till this fall and resale.
One pen of 4 heavy bred LH heifers brought 550 a piece couldn't hardly give them away.

Caustic, was that at Livingston? It was a holiday weekend. Our run at Wills Point was lite on numbers and back to farm buyers. All the regular order buyers were there.

Yes it was Livingston

Man those prices seem good. Livingston is only a little further than raywood from me I might have to start going up there. I've got some heifer calves I'm gonna try and sell for replacements but my steers might be making the trip to livingston.

Owned by the same people Livingston just has a good bunch of order buyers.
Their were five this week usually at least four competition is good if your selling bad if your buying.

Bought 2 loads of long weaned good black steers weighing 650 out of Northern New Mexico delivering late April to fill out a Summer grass deal for $165 at 650.
Green grass fever for the backyard set is in full swing for cows etc. in California, we gathered about 250 pairs to move to some higher feed that we don't winter cattle on. There were 5 black and black baldy second calvers with clunker calves at side. Not grass bellied leppies but pretty pathetic as they were October calves and were coarse haired and plain in addition to only weighing 250 on average. Very pretty cows but those sorts of mother cows production wise work against keeping an operation in the black, so off to town they went.
Those cows were pregged at 2 months bred, and those greasy fat 3n1's with a dead give away running right next to them for what sort of awful producer they are brought $2,700.

I've got a question for you js1234. Have you ever bought any cattle east of the Mississippi?

Very little. I have bought some Florida cattle on Superior video sales to go to a wheat deal I partner on in Texas a time or two. I don't anymore though, Mexicans really work better for us on that deal.
Honestly, the furthest East that I buy cattle with any regularity is Iowa.

Ok. We buy a few bred cows out of Iowa, we market most of our bred cows either there or in South Dakota.
