Just curious what folks out there are using for roller chain lube, specially on round balers.

Thanks.

I wish I could remember the name of what I use (just sprayed the chains this morning)! It is an aerosol chain lube that sprays out a thick almost foamy film of oil that tends to stay in place for a while! I have used everything from grease to used oil, and I can tell you that the spray can stuff is just so much easier to use. Sorry I can't think of the name right now.

Thanks. I've been using chain bar oil for years, and a friend talked me into using Schaeffer's aerosol roller chain lube this year. They look nice but still trying to convince myself it's better than bar oil.

Thanks.

Still using the Schaeffer's aerosol lube, ran 201 rolls thru it yesterday and sprayed them down around halfway for good measure. The chains stay cleaner than bar oil but hard to get it thru my head that it's doing as good of a job.

Anyone got a baler with 10k+ thru it using only spray lube? How are the chains holding up? I replaced the ones on my old L a few years back at around 15k, and they were still in decent shape using bar oil.

When I had an NH 853,I used B and C or straight 30 non detergent.Baler had nearly 10, 000 when I got in a bind on repair work and retired it.With patience and some repair, it would still be runni ng. Bought well-maintained John Deere 535 and haven't fixed the old one yet.
