Hi all, I've got a Jersey cow that arrived with 2 bald spots on her neck a year ago. The vet said it was ringworm and gave me some cream but all that's done is to make them multiply and now she has these bald spots all over her neck and making their way down her sides. What ever I read says that ringworm has a crust but she just has these bald spots with clean skin! The spots are becoming larger and as I said multiplying. I'm using Apple Cider Vinegar on them now. HELP! Do you think I am dealing with ringworm or is it something else....no crust ever...I have contact with this cow morning and night.

a year ago?...I didn't know ringworms would last that long...if the hair has already fallen out then there should be some crust on it...usually the hair mats up for a while first...it takes a while for it to fall out...maybe the crust has just fallen off...it will usually cure itselfs without any treatment but if I were you...i'd probably try use about 2% iodine solution that should work just fine

Athletes foot spray, works like a charm. The virus that causes ringworm and athletes foot are basically the same thing. We've used it several times with real good results. Soaked the spots good with the spray, and only had to apply once.

Buffered Iodine works real well on ringworm. Put her in a headgate and rub the iodine in and around the area good. Should do it if its ringworm. Could give her another dose in about a week.

ive never seen ringworm last taht long or be noncrusty. i suppose it is possible if it was new spots that kept emerging but if they are the same ones plus some i'd feel pretty confidently that it was something else. i'm thinking more like a skin allergy, some sort of dermatitis or maybe even photosensitivity or something. no idea.

I had a severe ringworm problem a couple of years ago and tried all the ringworm remedies. None worked for me. The only cure I found was putting my ringworm cattle in with my goats. In a matter of days the ringworm was gone. I don't know what the goats do to the ringworm but it has worked every time now. Try it and let me know if it works for you.

Thanks for that spring hill, I've just shifted my girls into the same paddock as my goats so I'll keep my eye out! Fingers crossed!!!
