Ring worms

Help Support CattleToday:

Didn't say it was the right thing to do, just that was the old home remedy that people would use.

We have a couple feeders with it now, and just letting it run its course without treatment. Its getting better, doesn't help that its been grey and cloudy most of the last few weeks in our area.

Def do not put used motor oil on them or you. Find a nicer clean oil. Or maybe fresh grease. Or, even better, lanolin grease....

I remember as a kid my dad would put used motor oil on ringworm. He said he was told by older cattleman that it had to be used oil, not new. Something in the used oil such as sulfur or carbon that helped kill the fungus.

That something will kill anything in the right amount :) It has become hazmat....

Only humor at this stage.....there is enough info in the other thread to kill not only ringworm, but a newbie forum user :) :cowboy:

I fixed the quote in case it keeps being quoted further...lol..bit of oil on the mouse killed it...

Longer days and sunshine are the best cure. Simplest and cheapest too.
