Is there any one on this forum that would know where a person could buy some old fashion ribbon cane stalks for planting. I just want to plant a small plot for the grandkids.

What is ribbon cane?

Ribbon cane is a type of sugar cane that you make syrup from it is mostly a southren syrup.The further north you go you find other syrup making products. Such as sorgham, and far north maple.

I buy my cane syrup from Steen Syrup Co. in Abbeville LA. It is a pure cane syrup. It used to be advertized as Pure Ribbon Cane Syrup. I was told they don't use ribbon cane variety any more to make their cane syrup because the newer varieties produce better (higher yields,more sugar). This is their web site http://www.steensyrup.com/
