Well, I am taking your advise and he will be steaks by April. I did ALOT of research , ALOT of praying, , toured some farms looked at other bulls and bought a Shorthorn bull with EPD's designed for my terminal operation. I bought him from a couple who own Rocky Creek Shorthorns in Tennessee. He is out of an Express bull and Bushranger dam. I am happy about my decision. Thanks to everyone who wrote in to TEAR up the bull a bought the first time!! I listened. Sincerely, Barnscoop

Barnscoop-

I am pleased that you are happy with your decision. It is always a 'shot in the dark' when really criticizing another man's decisions, but I am sure that you did the right thing in rejecting the animal we discussed.

One LARGE benefit from which I am sure you will profit is the fact that you studied, read, and learned details which helped you not only to make this decision, but future decisions in your beef business.

"Learning" is the name of every game in business.

DOC HARRIS

Sure. He is not here yet. He is YOUNG only six months old. I only have seven cows for breeding and the sorry bull got lucky. They are terminal so that's one good thing. The new guy will have to wait until April or so and I have two Limo/Murray Grey crossed heifers coming for next year as well. I like the cross breeds.

Yes! I am excited about the crosses. These two girls have great hind quarters, something I have been looking for. Doc would be pleased. I know plenty of people prefer to line breed but I really like the crosses. Hybrid Vigor. Next spring I will have a BSE done and turn him out with the cows. Most of my other cows are Angus or Angus crosses..ei. Baldies.
