I always liked that song. I remember it playing in the morning on the radio when I was getting ready to go to school back in the early 70's.
I n a somewhat related vein, I went over to Lumber City today to get some dog food at the Nutrena plant and while there went in the local beer store to check out what kind of imports they had and "Soul Man" by Sam and Dave was playing on the radio. The girl behind the counter was singing along and a customer, a tall black guy turned to me and said "I grew up with those boys." "That right?" I asked. "Yep" was the reply. Just another day.
