Baxter is now 5 months old. I think he's doing pretty well, for such a rough start. He found a good mother, much better than me!

She is a beautiful cow. Good natured, easy to work, good mama. Unfortunately, she is has Neospora and hasn't bred back three months since aborting. I would hate to send her to the sale barn. :(

Sizmic, thanks to you, I have been treating her. I could not find a vet to help. I have used tribrissen (smz/tmp) and oxytet, but am not sure if I treated her long enough. I also vaccinate her with Neoguard at standing heat. And would have vaccinated her though out pregnancy, but she came back into heat twice, but didn't take.

She stood on Oct 10th, she cycles every twenty one days like clockwork. I have not given up.

That is unfortunate, but don't give up hope. I have a Champion Pen Heifer that slipped her first calf to that problem. I flushed her not long after so I could get something out of her, the calves hit the ground @ 1st of Sep. The best calves in the group so far. After treating her I got her bred on the first heat after flush and she should calve any day. Only difference is I haven't vaccinated her for neospora, kinda an expirement. Best of luck.

My understanding is if your cow made it through the 2nd trimester, you probably will get a live calf.

I am hoping that my cow didn't take because I put a good size calf on her when her milk was just about dried up, about a month after she aborted. She is in good shape. So I stay hopeful.
